Drooping of the eyebrows is a common early symptom of the
aging face. Frequently, the amount of droop in one eyebrow versus the other
is asymmetrical. Some patients develop frontal headaches from constant use
of the forehead muscles to counteract the drooping of the eyebrows. Frequently,
eyebrow lifting is performed in conjunction with blepharoplasty or other
procedures about the head and neck. The options for eyebrow lifting include
endoscopic brow lift, direct brow lift, mid-forehead browlift, and browlifting
that involves incisions in front of or behind the hairline. Differing browlift
approaches are determined mainly by hair-loss patterns, however, the minimally
invasive, endoscopic browlift has become the most popular browlift procedure.
The accompanying diagram depicts the placement of the incision for endoscopic
brow lifting. Patients should study their brow position, and we will discuss
the possibility of brow lifting with them on an individual basis. |
