Accumulation of fat is one of the earliest signs of aging. In fact, this problem
frequently occurs among teenagers as a hereditary or congenital problem.
This problem is easily addressed by using liposculpture. The technique
involves a small incisions in a natural skin crease. This allows the introduction of
a liposuction canula and careful removal of the fat. Dr. Campbell utilizes a subsonic (vibrating) cannula to decrease
postoperative swelling and bruising. In this manner, the area can be re-contoured
to its state before the accumulation of the fat. It is important to realize
that this procedure for younger individuals who have residual elasticity remaining in the skin.
For older individuals, liposculpture is performed along with repositioning and removal of
excess skin. Dr. Campbell will assess the elasticity of your skin and discuss your options
on an individual basis.
