One of the signs of aging
is thinning of the upper and lower lips. A simple lip advancement, with
or without staged augmentation, can significantly improve the appearance
of aging lips. This patient underwent only lip advancement. Note the
true lip line which the patient attempts to camouflage with lip stick
in the pre-operative views. Note the improvement in true lip line position
postoperatively.
Full lips are a hallmark of beauty. Multiple options exist to improve
lip fullness. These include lip advancement, augmentation, and lift.
Materials for augmentation include collagen injections, or Alloderm® (cadaveric
dermis), softform (gortex strips), autologous fat injections (the patient's
own), and autologous dermis/fat grafts. Dr. Campbell will discuss and
individualize lip enhancement surgery based on the wishes and desires
of each patient.
